Orleans Community Preservation Committee Seeks New Projects

Applications for funding close November 22, 2021

Orleans Seeks Good Community Preservation Projects

The Town of Orleans Community Preservation Committee (CPC) is opening its 2021-2022 application season (FY23) with a call for new applications. Applications for funding assistance in the areas of Outdoor Recreation, Open Space, Historic Preservation and Affordable Housing will be accepted until November 22, 2021.

Nonprofit community organizations, town boards and departments and private entities can apply for a project grant under the Community Preservation Act. Information, guidelines and an application can be found at www.town.orleans.ma.us/community-preservation-committee. Applicants should review the criteria for suitable projects and supply a narrative, action plan, proposed budget and timeline for their project by November 22.

Proposals will be reviewed by Town Counsel, the CPC and at a public hearing. The CPC then submits recommendations to the Select Board, leading to a warrant article for the Spring Town Meeting.

Potential applicants can review the existing portfolio of ongoing activities and earlier investments at the Committee’s website.  That site also has the latest edition of the Committee’s planning document which includes a list of decision criteria used by the Committee in reviewing applications.
