Communications / Dispatch

The Orleans Police communications center is staffed with full-time civilian dispatchers. All personnel working in the communications area are trained and certified to operate computers interfaced with the Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) and National Crime Information Center (NCIC).

Dispatchers receive an average of 13,000 phone calls per year requesting Police services such as information and directions, investigation of suspicious activities, and emergency assistance.

The Police Communications Center is on-site in the Town of Orleans 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and plays a vital role in the collection and disseminating of information to officers responding to calls.
