Notice for Downtown Area Sewer Abutters:

Downtown Sewer Project Connection and Deferral:

If you have a property within Phase 1 of the sewer project and will not be connected to the sewer by March 16, 2024 you MUST request a deferral as soon as possible to avoid fines. If you would like to request a deferral, please follow this process:

1.     Download and complete the deferral request packet by clicking the link below.  Please note the certification form requires an engineer stamp and signature. You may include any supporting documentation you feel is appropriate.

2.     Submit the completed request packet to the Orleans Health Department. You can email it to health@town.orleans.ma.us or drop it off in person.

3.     The Health Agent will review and approve completed packets in the order they are received.

Please be aware, if you are granted a deferral the new compliance date for your Phase 1 property will be September 16, 2024. The Town highly advises that you remain steadfast and diligent in moving towards connecting your property to the municipal sewer system in order to meet connection requirements by then.
