A multi-family rental development of 62 units, the project will renovate the building on West Road (next to Skaket Corners) previously occupied by Cape Cod Five’s Operations Center. Efforts have been underway since 2018 and as of October 2022, the developer Pennrose has secured approval for a comprehensive permit from the Orleans Zoning Board of Appeals, for federal and state tax credit financing by Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD), for contributions from seven of the eight towns on the Lower Cape, and gap financing in the form of a $2 million bond from the Town of Orleans’ Community Preservation Committee. At this time, estimates are for construction to start in 2023. Several documents produced during the project development, along with links, are:
