The Friends of Snow Library is happy to sponsor this year's Book and Author Luncheon on May 24 at the Jailhouse Tavern in Orleans. The time of this event is from 11:30 to 2:30.
Author Matthew Pearl will speak about his fourth novel, "The Technologists". This is a thriller about the first class at M.I.T. at a time when teaching science and technology was thought to be dangerous. "A series of scientific disasters spreads through Boston, and a small group of students from the class of 1868 come together to uncover the source of the menace. Harvard, meanwhile, looks to use the public fear to crush its rival."
