Summer Police Officer
The Orleans Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Summer Special Police Officer. Orleans Police Summer Special Officers primary responsibility is supplementing the full time officers in daily responsibilities. Summer Officers are responsible for parking enforcement, traffic duties, crowd control and security, assistance with arrest processing, and minor criminal and accident investigations. Typical assignments include bicycle patrol, walking beats, A.T.V. and beach patrol, traffic posts, and limited cruiser work. Applicants must have completed the Basic Reserve Intermittent Academy prior to employment. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and be at least 18 years of age.
